The 119th annual Santa Barbara County Fair will be held at Santa Maria Fair Park July 14-18, 2010. Wines from several wineries throughout Santa Barbara County will be judged June 10, 2010 and the winning wineries will be asked to serve wine at the Santa Barbara County Fair. The Urban Wine Trail Trolley Tour is happening once again on December 5, 2009 from 6pm until 9pm. This tour will take you on a trolley to eleven wineries within the city limits of Santa Barbara, CA for wine tasting and appetizers. The donated trolley from Santa Barbara Trolley Company will take you to the following wineries: Carr Vineyards & Winery, Jaffurs Wine Cellars, Kalyra Winery, Kunin Wines, Oreana Winery, Santa Barbara Winery, Summerland Winery, Westerly Vineyards, Whitcraft Winery, Wine Cask Alliance, and Urban Wine Trail Municipal Winemakers.
Vineyards in the Santa Barbara area cover roughly 21,000 acres, growing many different grapes. This allows the wineries to produce a variey of different wines including, but not limited to Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Merlot, and Pinot Noir.
